Dr. Gotov was appointed as an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company in May 2010.
Dr. Gotov was awarded a master’s degree in science and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry by Comenius University, Slovakia. Dr. Gotov has started his professional career as an assistant professor at the Comenius University, and has worked on highly successful projects in Mongolia and abroad. Since 2004, Dr. Gotov served in various managerial positions within the MCS Group companies.
Dr. Gotov joined the Group in June 2008 as the Chief Executive Officer of Energy Resources LLC and was instrumental in the successful transformation of the Group’s operations from a green field project to a fully integrated coal mining, processing, transportation and marketing platform.
Dr. Gotov is a Board member of the Mongolian National Mining Association and the Mongolian Coal Association respectively, and is a member of the Mongolian Mineral Resources Policy Council.
Mr. Lkhagvatsend joined the Group in 2008 as the Chief Executive Officer of Energy Resources Rail LLC. He served as the Vice President and Chief Logistics Officer of the Company before being promoted to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer’s position in May 2013. From February 2023, he has primary responsibility for leading and overseeing the Group’s efforts to diversify its business portfolio and revenue sources by identifying potential investment opportunities in copper and gold projects, in particular.
Mr. Lkhagvatsend has more than 15 years of experience in the business sector of Mongolia, holding senior executive positions in the private sector of the country.
Mr. Lkhagvatsend was instrumental in the development and execution of the Company’s strategy to develop its own coal transport and logistics operations and infrastructure, including successful execution of the construction project for a 245 km heavy haul road between UHG and GS.
He was awarded a bachelor’s degree in law from the National University of Mongolia, and underwent executive training held by the Michigan Business School, USA in 2004.
Mr. Dorjpalam joined the Group as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in February 2023. His primary responsibility is to lead and oversee the Group’s coal mining, processing, transportation, sales and marketing operations.
Since 2004, Mr. Dorjpalam served in various managerial positions within the MCS Group companies, including the Chief Executive Officer of Unitel Group from 2017 to 2022.
He was awarded a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, and holds his master’s degree from the National Academy of Governance, Mongolia.
Ms. Baskhuu joined the Group as the Vice President of Energy Resources Rail LLC in December 2008 and was appointed as the Chief Investment Officer of the Group in November 2011. She was re-designated and appointed as the Group’s Chief Financial Officer on 27 August 2013.
Prior to joining the Company, she worked for major banks in various senior positions, such as Director of Financial Institutions at the Trade and Development Bank of Mongolia and Head of Investment Banking at Khan Bank.
Ms. Baskhuu was instrumental in the Group’s activities to finance its growth and expansion, including the successful issuance of USD600 million 5-year Guaranteed Senior Notes in 2012, which was the first 144 issuer from Mongolia.
Ms. Baskhuu holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mercer University, USA.
Ms. Dorjgotov joined the Group in December 2009. Before joining the Company, Ms. Dorjgotov worked as Director of the legal and administration department and Chief Legal Counsel of MCS Holding LLC. She also worked as an in-house lawyer for the USAID-funded Mongolia Privatization Programme of Barents Group of Bearing Point, Inc. for 6 years and as a supervising prosecutor for the Prosecutor General Office of Mongolia for 9 years.
Ms. Dorjgotov holds a master’s degree (LMM) from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, with a concentration on competition and commercial law, and a Diploma of Lawyer with Distinction from the University of Irkutsk, Russia.
Mr. Said joined the Group in February 2009. Mr. Said was appointed as the Company’s Acting Chief Operating Officer in April 2023. Since 2009, Mr. Said served at various managerial positions within the Group, including Executive General Manager of Mining and Processing, General Manager of Technical Services and Senior Geologist. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in geological engineering from the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.
Mr. Tagarvaa joined the Group in 2011, as an Executive General Manager for transportation and logistics and was instrumental in the successful implementation of the Company’s efforts to improve efficiency in transportation and reduce transportation and logistics costs while ensuring stable supply of coal products exported by the Company. Since 2003, Mr. Tagarvaa served in various managerial positions within the MCS Group of companies.
From 2014, he served as an Executive General Manager for sales administration and was promoted to the Company’s Chief Marketing Officer responsible for transportation, logistics and sales operations, in April 2017.
Mr. Tagarvaa holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from the Institute of Finance and Economy, Mongolia.
Ms. Bazar joined Energy Resources LLC in 2009 and served as an Executive General Manager for numerous infrastructure and business projects of the Company.
With over 15 years of experience in project management and related fields, Ms. Bazar has been involved in several national-level projects including the government treasury system and rural VSAT network, etc.
Ms. Bazar holds a bachelor’s degree in economic data processing from the Engineering and Economics Institute of Kharkiv, Ukraine, and a master of commerce degree in information systems from the Curtin University of Technology, Australia. Before joining the Company, Ms. Bazar held responsible positions at various subsidiaries of MCS Group.
